Jerma is a Challenger Card that was first seen and printed in the Grotto Beasts! Trading Card Game. The character is a reference to the actual Twitch streamer Jerma985.

Card Effect
| When you lose a coin flip, attach a card from your deck face down onto Jerma. When you flip a coin, if there are two cards attached to Jerma, you win that coin flip regardless of what you call and discard all cards attached to Jerma. |

Development
- Written by Game Designer J. Evan Raitt:
During the ideation phase, Jerma requested lots of randomness and things that would make the game unpredictable, but still be fun and let players be skilled. The hope was to develop a card effect for Jerma that fit this request the most, but I didn't know exactly how to implement it. One card idea for a Wish that was cut from the game was based on the theme that Jerma just so happens to be inexplicably lucky sometimes. Once that theme was brought to my attention, the Wish card was cut in order to keep that theme for Jerma's own card instead.
While there are plenty more Challengers and card effects that I find better fit the game, I am most proud of designing an effect that Actual Jerma felt matched him very well.
