Information

Development

Written by Game Designer J. Evan Raitt:

For much of the development of the game, Scritchy Scratch's card effect provided a debuff based on the number of Rat Beasts there were in play, as a nod to the story from where Scritchy Stratch came from. However, as the game was getting finalized, in one of the final changes to the game, Scritchy Scratch was shifted to have a mill strategy because while there were plenty of cards that allowed players to mill their opponent's decks, there was no Challenger that helped that strategy. I am very glad I made that change, as a Rat specific debuff sounds dumb the more I think about it now.

Trivia

  • For much of the game's playtesting, Scritchy Scratch's UFO form as directly taken from the Rat Movie was used, to the point where it might have been the actual artwork used, up until Hollulu completed the original artwork.
